Community Partners,
We value the tireless work of all the community-based organizations involved in the CDC Health disparities grant. We know that the nature of COVID, public health, and resources in general is constantly changing. In an effort to generate some consistency, DDPHE and the HEAT team will be sending newsletters every other week. The hope is to find timely, appropriate, and accurate resource connections that can be utilized by any of the CBOs. We will try to have a variety of items ranging from local calendar events, updated offerings from foundational non-profits, new resources coming online, etc. We will plan on emailing out the newsletter and archives the community platform for CBOs to access at any time. We hope that these newsletters will be helpful and a means to an open dialogue about needs, advocacy, and networking. Please feel free to email back questions or bring up comments in respective CBO meetings.
Here are a few resources around Mental and Behavioral Health Support locally and nationally.
1)A DHS community Network Meeting was held on June 3rd that feature information on local resources: The Gathering Place, The Center on Colfax, I Matter, and the Denver START clinical program. The training was completed live in Spanish, however unfortunately recordings are only in English.

The “I Matter” info is extremely helpful as funding was extended to allow for telehealth therapy to continue through June 2023 and to allow for 6 sessions if not more. This is such a great service for Colorado youth and the therapists represent many different communities. To watch just this portion forward to 49:50 – 112:00 minutes.

2) Servicios De La Raza is a prominent and long-standing nonprofit in central area of Denver that offers a large variety of services, resources and connections. Their flyers are attached along with an upcoming community Holistic Health Festival event at La Raza Park on 7/23.
